'Stout Proud'
'Stout Proud' video, made by two alumni, premiered Feb. 17

University of Wisconsin-Stout showcased the Alumni Association's new 'Stout Proud' video that celebrates the mission, spirit and special aspects of Wisconsin's Polytechnic University. The video premiered on Feb. 17 and was made by two recent alumni, Christopher Bartlett and R.T. Vrieze, who co-own Knorth Studios in Eau Claire. They worked on the video over the course of nearly two years shooting dozens of individual interviews and clips of various campus events. Read more →

Student Power
Solar panels to provide energy for first time on campus building
A proposal to install 36 solar panels on top of Merle M. Price Commons was approved by the Stout Student Association, the university's student government council. The SSA Sustainability Council proposed the project after weighing the results of a solar feasibility study. This project aligns with the SSA's support for UW-Stout's Seize the Grid Campaign, led by students who want campus to use 100 percent renewable energy by 2030.  Read more →
Turning Heads
Everend video game about an owl wins national Intel contest
On March 2, 2017, a video game created by a team of 12 UW-Stout game design students won the Best Visual Quality award at the Intel University Games Showcase. The game, Everend, was created in 2016 by students in Associate Professor, Dave Beck's, senior game design class and is a short, single-player game that revolves around Kaia, a young owl in a vast cave separated from its family. Their winnings included $10,000 worth of Intel products for UW-Stout's game design program.  Read more →

Tim Schletty '03, owner of Lucette Brewing and Lucette Woodfire Eatery in Menomonie, developed the Birkie Brew-Ski amber ale, which will be the new official beer of the American Birkebeiner.

Grant Brugger '13 & Kayla Choromanski '12, were married on Mar. 1, 2016, in Punta Cana, Mex.

Karen Hague '83, joined Grocery Outlet in Emeryville, Cal., as vice president of human resources in Jan. 2017.

Aron Johnson '97, was promoted to business operations director of the Connected Microcontroller Division at Texas Instruments, Inc. in Dallas, Tex.
